Tired of dipping? Want to learn more about underglazes and oxides? Looking for new and creative ways to decorate your pots? This class is for you!
Open to all skill levels, Handbuilding & Surface Design is designed for ceramic artists who want to expand their surface design techniques and explore new ways of adding color, texture, pattern, and imagery to their work.
Through a combination of demonstrations, hands-on projects, and experimentation, you’ll explore techniques such as underglaze, oxides, carving, stamping, texture, layering, and other alternative surface treatments. You’ll also create handbuilt forms that give you a canvas to experiment with your new techniques.
Whether you’re brand new to ceramics or have been making pots for years, this class is all about getting out of the glaze bucket, trying something new, and developing your own surface design vocabulary.

Materials Fee: $28to be charged on the first day of class with credit/debit (no member discount on materials fee)
